The Environmental Agency have now listed many items as "Special Waste" which can no longer be placed in skips (see list below) and taken to landfill but we can still collect the majority of them separately. These items are then dealt with in an environmentally friendly way which obviously means costs for the customer but less damage to the environment.
As of 16th July 2004 we are unable to remove the following items in our skips due to new Environmental Legislation:-
Asbestos (We are unable to deal with this product in any way a specialist removal company will have to be used.)
Plasterboard (See information Below)
Batteries (One Per Skip)
Computer Monitors
Televisions
Electrical Goods (No extra charge on small items ask for details)
Fluorescent Tubes
Freezers
Fridges
Gas Cylinders (Empty)
Liquids
Oils
Paint Tins & Paints (Paint Tins must be sealed and not full.)
Solvents
The items in Red can be removed but will incur extra cost.
Inert materials i.e. sand, gravel, soil, brick, rubble and concrete can be removed at discount prices. Again an environmentally friendly option and less expensive for our customer. This is just one of the ways we try to keep costs down for our clients.
Plasterboard in Skips
Plasterboard cannot be placed into a skip without prior notice. The Skip will then be tipped on weight and not skip container size.
Plasterboard Bags can be supplied if a skip is not required or only a small quantity needs to be removed. Prices on application.
